iQGEN.com invites you to an informational meeting, "SEEING Without Glasses, With and Without Lasers." On July 21, 2007 at the Physicians Association facility (Sedanstr. 10-16, 50668 Cologne, Germany) at 2:00 p.m., there will be an afternoon information session discussing current surgical options for promoting a glasses-free lifestyle at any age. The event is expected to last about 2 hours. This session will cover the treatment of myopia, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia. Currently, corneal laser treatment is also possible for individuals who otherwise do not require glasses. For patients who are not candidates for corneal laser treatment, the session will also discuss the suitability for implanting a contact lens onto a patients eye without having the patient replace their own natural lens. For the last several years, this alternative treatment has continued to grow in popularity, since not only does it prevent the need for careful corneal surgery, but it also has the benefit of being a reversible procedure. There will also be a discussion regarding what kind of treatment should be recommend at a particular time, and whether one should choose ultrasound or laser eye treatment for cataracts. We have a new contact lens program for children and adolescents older than six years of age. Better results are achieved by using a more dimensionally stable contact lens with higher oxygen permeability.
